The Open University provides support to transport professionals and policymakers across a range of services. We have completed research projects for several local authorities and government departments (e.g. on DRT, innovative public transport and travel plans) and have provided research-based advice (e.g. on transport taxation to the National Business Travel Network).
We are an important provider of distance-delivered Continuing Professional Development short courses; these include a travel planning programme supported by TfLÂ http://www.open.ac.uk/cpd/?q=node/128) and a programme with FirstBus and CILTÂ providing an MBA and chartered CILT status. The Open University also validates the Transportation Vocational Qualifications Programme.
