We're now accepting nominations in all categories, and taking bookings for tickets and sponsorship packages.

All entries are limited to 2 sides of typed A4 maximum or 800 words if submitted electronically.

Award Categories

Community Connection Award

Projects to involve the community are key for both local authorities and their citizens, serving as a bridge between the two. This award is for the project that best shows council and community working as one to improve their local area.

Urban Renaissance Award

The regeneration of our towns and cities continues apace, with projects ranging from the building of new sports facilities to the wholesale regeneration of entire neigbourhoods. This award will go to the council or partnership organisation whose efforts  best exemplify the spirit of renaissance that is sweeping through the UK’s urban areas.

Excellence in education Award

The education of our children has never been more important, with skills shortages in many sector, falling literacy and numeracy rates in some areas and an increasing number of qualified professionals seeking to work overseas. This award will reward the organisation or authority that is best addressing the urgent need to get our children back to school and into the jobs that need filling thereafter.

Zero C Award

Presented to the project that has most successfully addressed the carbon reduction agenda in the last year. Construction, regeneration or community projects – entries are welcome from all, as long as they are helping to cut the UK’s carbon emissions.

Green Agenda Award

This award is for the council, rather than project, that has most successfully integrated green policies into its day-to-work, bringing sustainable, environmentally friendly homes and communities to its citizens.

Council of the Year

The winner of this award will, quite simply, be excellent on every level. Size will be measured against quality of output, so even the smallest council can win. Entries are welcome from all county, district, borough, London borough, metropolitan, unitary and islands councils in the UK.

 

Improved Council of the Year

This is award will recognise the council which can best demonstrate significant steps to improve its services over the last 12 months. The council need not necessarily be delivering the very best service just yet, but must demonstrate to both its citizens and the judges that the steps it has taken in the last year demonstrate its desire to strive for excellence. welcome to enter.

Excellence in e-procurement Award

Councils spend more than £70bn a year, making them one of the biggest buyers in the UK economy. Judges will be looking for the best use of technologically-advanced ways of obtaining best value for bought-in goods and services.

It/digital innovation Award

Councils have a long history of forward thinking and innovative practice, and this award will recognise those who have most successfully adapted to the latest technological innovations to provide the best possible services for their citizens.

Legal Award

With the often complex legal frameworks surrounding public sector operations, legal teams play a key role in getting projects up and running. This award could go to a team in general or on a specific project, and indeed to an in-house or external team, providing the winner can demonstrate that its work has brought genuine improvements to citizens lives.

Crime reduction Award

Here we are searching for the project which can best demonstrate a significant reduction in crime rates in an area, making a safer and happier community for the residents within. Entries are welcome from councils, partnerships or community groups.

Best Housing Strategy Award

The drive to create more homes and bring an end to the housing crisis and spiraling prices has changed the face of modern Britain with millions of homes needed over the next few years. This award will go to the council which has best adopted it’s housing strategy to provide the new homes so urgently needed while keeping sustainability, affordability and community cohesion at the forefront.
