New look for council homes in Rossington

St. Leger Homes of Doncaster, in partnership with Bramall Construction, has completed insulated rendering on the properties which has seen homes receive new soffits and fascias, new windows and doors and fully insulated external render.

This type of work is part of the Decent Homes Programme where nearly £2 million has been spent in Rossington since November last year. The external work is now complete and has dramatically changed the look of the area.

The programme targets those homes that cannot receive cavity wall insulation. The programme insulates the outside of property by a specialised insulation and render system.

Mr Sweeney, of Hyperion Way said: "The work is a 100 per cent improvement on what was here before, I can't fault it. Not only is the work an improvement but the men worked in all conditions, were courteous and went the extra mile putting my belongings back in place. I really am over the moon with what has been done here and will work hard to look after it."

Paul Elliott, Assistant Director at St. Leger Homes of Doncaster said: "We are delighted to have completed the Decent Homes works in Rossington and that the tenants are pleased with the work. We now plan to move the external improvement programme into Cantley and Scawsby where over 300 homes in the area will receive similar work."

St. Leger Homes, in partnership with Doncaster Council, is working with Bramall Construction, Henry Boot Construction and Wates Living Space to deliver the Decent Homes Programme.
Senior site manager Craig Senior of Bramall Construction said: "I'm really impressed with the transformation of the area. Not only do the works look good but the tenants will also benefit from reduced heating bills because of the insulation."

Around £580,000 is to be spent on works in Cantley where Wates Living Space will carry out the render improvements and around £880,000 will be spent on works in Scawsby through Henry Boot Construction.
