100 jobs to go at London Development Agency
The London Development Agency (LDA) is planning to cut another 100 posts, the London Assembly’s Budget Monitoring Sub-Committee was told this week.
Sir Peter Rogers, chief executive of the LDA said that government cuts mean a loss of £40 million from this year’s programme budget, a reduction of 25 percent. Sir Peter told the Committee he has started consulting staff about the loss of around 100 jobs and is expecting further reductions in budget when Government grants are announced for the next financial year. Some 170 jobs were cut from the Agency last year.
John Biggs AM, chair of the Budget Monitoring Sub-Committee, said: “These cuts represent a significant reduction in the capacity of the LDA which will inevitably impact on its projects to support jobs, skills and growth in the capital. “
