Audit Commission to be scrapped
LGE understands that staff at the Audit Commission, which monitors public sector spending and efficiency, have today (Friday) recieved an email from management advising them that the body is to be scrapped.
The commission employs 2,000 people and audits around £200Bn of public sector spending annually. As yet no official announcement has been made. LGE will have more information as it becomes available.
