Councils across Tees Valley submit LEP bid

Tees Valley Unlimited, a partnership of councils across the Tees Valley, has decided to develop its own proposal to form a Local Enterprise Partnership and has submitted a formal expression of interest to ministers.

An LEP is a sub-regional partnership of councils and businesses aimed at boosting economic growth.

Ministers have said they expect LEPs to have responsibility for areas such as local transport, planning and housing, infrastructure, employment and enterprise and supporting the transition to a low carbon economy.
