Hastings to axe chief executive post

Hastings Borough Council is to cut its chief executive’s role as part of a cost-cutting plan.

The Sussex-based authority will cut the number of senior managers locally from 15 to 10, with the chief executive’s duties to be carried out by the remaining senior managers.

The departing chief executive, Roy Mawford, has served the council since 1998.
