HCA publishes details of property assets
The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) has published a list of all its land and property assets categorised by local authority area, type of asset, size and address, as part of its commitment to the government's transparency agenda.
The information could enable local authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and community-based organisations work with the HCA to support assembly of land development opportunities for their area. It will also make it possible for members of the public to scrutinise the land and buildings owned by the national housing and regeneration agency, making it easier for communities to see where HCA-owned property is located and its status.
Pat Ritchie, chief executive of the Homes and Communities Agency said: "Land and property is becoming an important 'currency' to support delivery. We hope that by publishing details of our assets, it will be easier for local authorities and others to see where we might be able to help them achieve their housing and regeneration ambitions in areas across the country.
"Through our enabling role and investment planning process, we are working with local authorities, RDAs and other partners to develop joined-up, coherent strategies that use public assets to best effect meeting local needs as well as delivering best value for the taxpayer."
The list of assets can be downloaded from the HCA website.
