Leicester City Council chooses Cirrus to provide telecare services
Leicester City Council has selected Cirrus to provide telecare services at sheltered housing accommodation in the city.
The council invited tenders through the OJEU framework after deciding it wanted to improve its existing community alarm services. In particular, it was looking for a flexible telecare-enabled communication system that could work with localised CCTV and be compatible with its current monitoring platform.
As well as the focus on being cost-effective, the authority was particularly impressed with Cirrus’ approach to environmental and sustainability issues, disposal, and its plans to re-use equipment where appropriate.
Mahesh Parmer, procurement officer, Leicester City Council said: “Cirrus’s approach to customer care and environmental procedures, combined with its understanding of the Tynetec product range made it stand out from the other bidders. We are looking forward to working with the Cirrus team.”
Andy Davey, head of Cirrus, commented: “This is an exciting project which will bring numerous benefits to Leicester’s 14 sheltered housing schemes.
