Manchester Town Hall to be transformed
Laing O’Rourke has won a £90million contract to refurbish Manchester City Council’s Grade II listed Town Hall Complex.
The contract will see the transformation of the Town Hall Extension, Central Library and St Peter's Square.
Laing O’Rourke’s Construction North business was awarded the contract, the first to be tendered through the North West Construction Hub High Value Framework.
The key element of the programme is the creation of an integrated Customer Service Centre, which will allow people to access all the council services they need in a single visit.
Work is scheduled for completion in 2013.
