New website launched to promote the third sector to Londoners

People in need of the services provided by these groups and their families are now able to search by borough and service type to find out which ones are available to them in their local areas.

The new site http://www.londoncouncils.gov.uk/grants also includes several case studies to provide people with a real insight into the services on offer.

Workers within the health, voluntary and local government sectors will also be able to use the website as a resource when making referrals or to commission services from groups in the future.

Funded groups are encouraged to upload information directly onto the new website which features comprehensive listings of news, photos and forthcoming events, including training courses, charity concerts and conferences.

Chairman of London Councils' Grants Committee, Councillor Lynne Hillan said:

"Voluntary groups and charities funded by London Councils provide valuable services to local communities and this website will help everybody who is entitled to use these services find out how to access them.

"The website is also a fantastic platform to showcase the great work that is done by London Councils' funded groups and to keep up to date on news and events they have coming up."
