Norfolk residential homes get makeover
Wednesday, 23 July 2008
Residential homes in Norfolk have spent a £1.26 million grant from the Department of Health on building sensory gardens, reminiscence kitchens and even a conservatory.

The grant, which has been provided for over the past year, was aimed at enhancing the physical environment in nursing or residential care homes for elderly people. One hundred and twenty homes in Norfolk received the funding.

Over eighty per cent of the homes were independently owned and the rest were Norfolk County Council-owned residential care homes, reflecting the split in the market.
