ODA gives its backing to 2012 Olympic Park tower
The Olympic Delivery Authority has granted in principle full planning permission to the ArcelorMittal Orbit tower to be built at the 2012 Olympic Park.
The 114- metre high tower is designed by Anish Kapoor.
Planning permission is subject to certain conditions being fulfilled and the completion of a section 106 planning agreement.
The plans have now been sent to the Greater London Assembly for approval, which must make a decision on the plans within three weeks.
