Project to help dementia carers in Wirral is launched

The Caring for Dementia Project, launched at the Birkenhead Museum, will be run as a partnership between Wirral’s Department of Adult Social Services, the Alzheimer’s Society, Age Concern Wirral, Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Trust and Wirral PCT.

It will identify carers who are not otherwise known to existing support services and will make contact with them to offer advice and assistance.

The project in particular, will aim to offer carers an assessment of their needs; to put them in touch with appropriate support services; to ensure they continue to receive the support they need and to help them to feel positive about continuing to care for their loved-ones.
