Public sector employers to publish gender pay gap
Public sector employers will have to publish their gender pay gap for the first time from next year, under Government proposals.
Organisations with 150 or more staff will be forced to disclose the difference in earnings between men and women doing comparable jobs.
The measure is likely to be implemented next April under the Equality Act.
Public sector employers will also be made to disclose other diversity statistics, such as the number of disabled or ethnic minority staff employed by the organisation, although the Equality and Human Rights Commission is due to outline exactly what is expected.
