Stoke regeneration body to be scrapped and replaced with LEP
Stoke Council’s regeneration partnership looks set to be scrapped after councilors backed plans to form a local enterprise partnership (LEP).
At a meeting of Stoke Council, councilors voted to scrap the North Staffordshire Regeneration Partnership and give delegated powers to the executive team to progress with an LEP application submission on behalf of the council.
They said these powers were needed in order to apply to create the LEP, which would take over the funding role of regional development agency Advantage West Midlands when it is axed.
The council is seeking to form the LEP along with other councils in Staffordshire.
